Winter Magic (c) Österreich Werbung / Robert Maybach

A little daydreaming is allowed

Snow-white landscapes, purest Alpine air and convivial interludes for refreshments.

Get up, open the window and let the fresh mountain air into your room. Quickly go down the stairs and discover a table that has been set as if by magic. An energizing breakfast is essential for the full day ahead of you. Then, with your essentials packed together, out you head. Up into the mountains. Snow-white landscapes, purest alpine air and the occasional convivial interlude for refreshments. At the end of the day, return to the cozy confines of your accommodations, squeeze in one or two sauna sessions and allow yourself to be pampered thoroughly.

What, for the moment at least, sounds too good to be true, we will hopefully be able to experience again soon. We love nothing more than to follow the silent call of the Alps when the year is, for the most part, behind us. Whilst many of our establishments close in winter, others only now come into their own. There, you will find pistes right behind the house, extraordinary locations in the midst of the Alps, culinary extravagance and wellness oases, certain to make any ski holiday quite unforgettable.

Two Insider Tips

We can't and don't want to keep this to ourselves. For ski-touring fans, the Hirschen Schwarzenberg in Bregenzerwald is a true insider tip. In good snow conditions, you are able to embark on your skiing adventures from right behind the house. Hotelier Peter Fetz, himself an avid ski tourer, is always available to share his personal suggestions. And since we are on the topic of young hoteliers: Ansitz Felsenheim, where Benedikt Kössler conjures up incomparable breakfast dishes, lies at the foot of the new six-seater chairlift in the Grubigstein ski area. Definitely time to head to Leermoos!
